Looking at The Three Sisters from a fresh vantage point, the iconic peaks stood cool and serene against a sky coming alive in pink and violet clouds catching the afternoon sun. Three tall pine trees silhouetted in the foreground frame the mountain range, anchoring the vast blue landscape below. I painted this with thick, expressive impasto strokes to capture that expansive mountain air—where the rugged granite walls meet the soft, radiant color moving across the sky.

The textured fine art paper is an archival, Ph-neutral, OBA-free, thick and gorgeous 400 gsm medium, made by Strathmore. The special top coating of this paper gives it unique precision, contrast and color saturation for a matte medium. It is also much more resistant to water spills than most fine art paper.
