Driving north of Scugog in late August, the open fields sit freshly harvested under a sky alive with rolling, lavender-tinted clouds. A cluster of tall pines stands guard over the golden farmland, where round hay bales lie scattered across the warm, furrowed earth. I painted this with bold, textured impasto strokes to capture that rich rural atmosphere—the crisp turquoise sky, the sweeping clouds, and the quiet satisfaction of the late summer harvest.
