"Winter is a Gift" is a centerpiece of my collection, a 30x48 oil painting that captures the profound beauty of a Canadian winter morning. This work was inspired by the quiet, snow-covered landscapes of the Seaton Trail in Pickering, where the low sun casts long, rhythmic "shadow blues" across a pristine forest floor.
The painting serves as a reminder that the cold season brings its own unique warmth. The composition features towering evergreens heavy with snow, contrasted against a vibrant, golden light that breaks through the treeline. This interplay of light and shadow creates a peaceful, meditative atmosphere, making it a perfect statement piece for any home seeking a sense of calm and natural wonder.

The textured fine art paper is an archival, Ph-neutral, OBA-free, thick and gorgeous 400 gsm medium, made by Strathmore. The special top coating of this paper gives it unique precision, contrast and color saturation for a matte medium. It is also much more resistant to water spills than most fine art paper.
