There’s a quiet pause that takes over the woods right after a storm clears, when the heavy snow clings to every bough and the air turns dead silent. As the winter sun settles low behind the treeline, it floods the trail with a soft, pale warmth, laying down a tapestry of rich violet and cobalt shadows across the snowbank. I painted this with heavy, expressive impasto to capture that still, suspended moment in the woods—where the cold shade meets the last gentle glow of afternoon light before the next storm rolls in.

The textured fine art paper is an archival, Ph-neutral, OBA-free, thick and gorgeous 400 gsm medium, made by Strathmore. The special top coating of this paper gives it unique precision, contrast and color saturation for a matte medium. It is also much more resistant to water spills than most fine art paper.
