Walking through the trails around Claremont on a quiet winter afternoon, the woods can seem entirely frozen and motionness at first glance. But look closer, and the forest is constantly moving—the low sun shifts through the pines, breaking into a brilliant golden haze that sends long, vivid blue shadows stretching across the snowbank. I painted this with heavy, expressive impasto strokes to capture that exact dynamic contrast—where behind the quiet hush of snow-laden boughs, the light and color are vibrant and alive.
Frame not included
The textured fine art paper is an archival, Ph-neutral, OBA-free, thick and gorgeous 400 gsm medium, made by Strathmore. The special top coating of this paper gives it unique precision, contrast and color saturation for a matte medium. It is also much more resistant to water spills than most fine art paper.
