Driving along Altona Road in early spring, the sky feels massive and wide open as huge, pillowy clouds roll in over the fields. The snow is melting fast, carving out bright turquoise ribbons across the warm earth, contrasting sharply with the deep golds and reds of the awakening land. I painted this with expressive, heavy brushstrokes to capture that energetic transition—the brilliant contrast between the crisp blue sky, light-filled clouds, and the raw, shifting landscape below.
