Walking along Seaton Trail in Pickering late in the day, the forest drops into a total, muffled quiet. The low sun pushes a warm golden light through the heavy, snow-laden evergreens, laying down deep indigo shadows that stretch right across the snowbanks. I painted this with thick, sculpted brushwork to capture that still winter atmosphere—the sharp contrast between cold blue shade and the quiet, radiant glow breaking through the trees.

The textured fine art paper is an archival, Ph-neutral, OBA-free, thick and gorgeous 400 gsm medium, made by Strathmore. The special top coating of this paper gives it unique precision, contrast and color saturation for a matte medium. It is also much more resistant to water spills than most fine art paper.
