Out on the Trans Canada Trail in Durham Region, a heavy snowfall leaves the pines standing tall under massive, soft pillows of blue-tinted snow. As the late sun drops behind the ridge, it ignites the background trees in a fiery orange and warm yellow, casting long, rhythmic cobalt shadows across the snowbank. I painted this with thick, sculptural oil strokes to capture that quiet reverent atmosphere of the winter woods—the cold stillness of the snow-laden boughs standing against the warm, glowing light breaking through the forest.
Frame not included
The textured fine art paper is an archival, Ph-neutral, OBA-free, thick and gorgeous 400 gsm medium, made by Strathmore. The special top coating of this paper gives it unique precision, contrast and color saturation for a matte medium. It is also much more resistant to water spills than most fine art paper.
