This painting was very time I head north toward my favorite fishing spots, there is a specific stretch of road past Scugog that demands I slow down. The journey toward Lake Simcoe is as much a part of the ritual as the fishing itself, and passing through the rolling countryside near Uxbridge, I am always struck by the quiet rhythm of the harvest. These hay bales, scattered across the sun-drenched fields like anchors in a sea of gold, represent a moment of transition—a pause in the landscape that signals the peak of the season. This painting is a reflection of those familiar vistas that line the North Road, captured during those quiet, anticipatory drives when the light hits the earth with a particular, fleeting brilliance.

The textured fine art paper is an archival, Ph-neutral, OBA-free, thick and gorgeous 400 gsm medium, made by Strathmore. The special top coating of this paper gives it unique precision, contrast and color saturation for a matte medium. It is also much more resistant to water spills than most fine art paper.
