I was hiking down toward the creek at Greenwood, scouting out a potential fly fishing pool for the warmer months, when the late light finally cut through the dense tree cover. The sudden burst of warm yellow laid down long, hard shadows across the fresh snow, turning the heavy pine boughs electric against the cool sky. I built this piece with thick, heavy oil strokes to capture that exact feeling of walking through quiet winter woods and having the sun suddenly slice through the cold stillness right in front of you.
Frame not included
The textured fine art paper is an archival, Ph-neutral, OBA-free, thick and gorgeous 400 gsm medium, made by Strathmore. The special top coating of this paper gives it unique precision, contrast and color saturation for a matte medium. It is also much more resistant to water spills than most fine art paper.
